Make-up Maven

Lately, i have been addicted to make-up. This started when my sis-in-law asked me if I could do her make-up for a party she had to attend. I have always known how to apply make-up but my knowledge is far too little when it comes to different make-up looks. The only look I know is the "everyday" look, which can easily be done in 5 minutes or less. 

Anyway, since I didn't want to disappoint her, I obliged and tried to pull the perfect make-up look for her. Up 'til now, I don't know if I succeeded. I never had the chance (or courage) to ask her if I did okay.

Since then, I decided to do a little research (all on my own) on make-up how to's and other techniques at achieving that perfect make-up look. Armed with my bag of make-up, I practiced my newfound knowledge on my daughter's nanny who, by the way, was sooo willing to be my model. I believe I have made a little success but I won't stop until I perfect it!

Look out, here comes the MAKE-UP MAVEN! 

~~ I even asked my mom (when she called from the states this morning) to buy me a new set of make-up from Clinique or MAC. This is turning out to be an addiction!

Firsts

The first time Cerise walked (as in walk, without holding on to anything) was last feb6, which, incidentally, is our 2nd year anniversary (me and my hubby as bf-gf). The uttering of real words soon followed (when I say real words, I mean real words. not mere mumblings like dada…) on feb14, which, as we all know, is valentine's day and the anniversary of my beloved sorority.

She has learned numerous things already. She knows how to kiss, give flying kisses, (the occasional) hug, salute, wipe her mouth. It's really amazing to look at her when she's learning new things. Sometimes it's funny and oftentimes it's adorable.

Just this afternoon, we bought her her first ever swimsuit. We thought it was about time since lola bought her a plastic swimming pool (miniature version). We can see that she really loves the water and she can spend a pretty long time in that pool. She would cry out loud when we try to get her out of it. Also, last weekend, we bought her a coloring book and crayons, which she ended up chewing and throwing at us. What should we buy her next??

I Call You Sister

     We have gone through the same rites of passage that serve as our common bond. We share a common history with those who came before us and those who will follow. We are one in a noble task, a struggle for the propagation of our ideals.

I’m Back!

I've been to elbi and back. Yet somehow, I feel like the time I spent there was bitin. At the same time, I felt like there's nothing to go back there anymore. Many things seemed to have happened there within the 1-month I was away. A "housemate" doesn't live there anymore. She moved in with her new boyfriend. Then, a "brod" no longer stays there and never will again.

When I arrived there, it felt like the whole house was empty. Maybe, they were just busy because finals week starts today. And the semester is nearing its end. I somehow felt sad when I arrived there but I know that change is inevitable and so… there's nothing I can do about it.

It's a good thing that there were other visitors aside from myself. We drank like there was no tomorrow (brandy was courtesy of thebigsexy). The following day I woke up with a headache but I didn't have the luxury of sleep. So, I got up and spent the rest of the day watching tv and just hanging out with my "foxriver inmates". Then I had lunch at Ning's Thai (courtesy of Irvinoid). The food there was yummy, that is, if you like spicy dishes. After saying our goodbyes, I went straight to the bus stop and was homeward-bound within minutes.
