Seascapade
March 6, 2007This is a tale of sun, sea, sand, and… sling!
Just came back from Puerto Galera… It was one hell of a crazy weekend! First, this trip was planned way way back, but we (my hubby and I) weren't really sure if we would push through with it. We were feelig guilty of the money we will spend during the entire trip… instead of just saving it. And we didn't want to leave our daughter behind. Saturday came, and we thought, what the heck?! Let's just do it. Here's a summary of our trip:
- 5am - pack our things
- 6am - leave the house ( go to Cubao)
- 7am - breakfast at chowking
- 7:30am - ride the bus going to batangas pier
- 10:45am - arrival at batangas pier
- 11am - borading of "commandos" ferry going to Puerto Galera
- 11:30am - the ferry finally sets sail
- 12:50pm - arrival in Puerto Galera
- 1pm - checked-in at Villa Lato Montagna
- 1:30pm - had lunch
And the rest is history… hehe. We got our henna tattoos and, of course, our visit to Puerto Galera will not be complete without having a taste of their famous Mindoro sling. And, no, they didn't give us its recipe. We had such a grand time just talking, over a pitcher of mindoro sling. We went back to our hotel room at around 2am.
The next day, sunday, we had an early start so as to catch some sun before we leave at noon. We went to the beach at 8am (it was the earliest I could get up…hihi). I'm really not a morning person but the beach-lover in me prevailed so I willed myself to get up. The weather was perfect, not too sunny and not too cloudy. We had our breakfast first and then we just plunged into the cold waters…brrr… then we rode the banana boat for only 100Php. Weehee! It was really fun. The banana was tied to a speedboat and we were brought to a deep part of the sea. After a while, we pick up speed and our vision become blurry due to the sea spray in our faces and eyes. And then, all of a sudden, we are forced into the water due to the changing of direction of the speedboat (which was on purpose). We all fall into the cold waters and then we try to get back on the banana boat. When we've successful regrouped ourselves, it happens again…I guess this is the reason my whole body is aching right now. After the banana boat ride, we had to go back to the hotel, pack our things, and check-out. On our way to the ferry, we had to stop by a store to buy souvenirs! We ate lunch at one of the "turo-turo" in the Batangas pier and boarded the bus to Cubao. Due to my exhaustion, I instantly fell asleep. Whew! Next time I go to Puerto Galera, I will be ready with food, sunscreen lotion, etc… and I'll definitely bring my friends along!
A Brand-New Month
March 1, 2007Today marks the beginning of a brand-new month.
Hope it brings lots of happiness and excitement… speaking of excitement, I can't wait for this weekend. I'm so excited to go to Puerto Galera. Weehee! =)
I know I've mentioned going there several times already but I just can't help it. Sorry!
Anyway, as usual, my life here is pretty boring. I'm glad i have the internet to amuse myself. Last night, I just watched the huge rats prance about… and when I say huge, I really mean huge. Ewww! One even tried to come near me. But I threw my daughter's toys at it to make it leave. ha! ha! Gosh, I hope all those rats would just disappear!
Also, my mom called today (from Florida). That's the only exciting thing that happened to me all day. Talking to her (and my younger brother) made me realize that I miss them. I noticed, while talking to my younger brother, that he hasn't changed. He still acts like a kuya (older brother) to me even though I have a kuya and I'm older than him… hehe. He always wanted to be older that's way I am the bunso (youngest) in the family. I remember the times when we were still in high school and my brother was in grade school, he would always give a sermon to my ate (older sister) regarding boys. We would just laugh at him and then he would say things like, "go on, just laugh at me. but, i know, you'll realize someday that I am right." And I guess, somehow, he was.
Sometimes, I wonder if we could ever go back to that time when we were young and our family was together and happy. Going to the beach and eating our lunch there. Just enjoying the simple pleasures of life in a small town. I'm not saying our family isn't happy now. It's just that we're so far away from each other, something I never thought would happen. *sigh* How did our lives get so complicated?!
Another One of Those Days
February 27, 2007This day started and ended the same way it did yesterday… and the other day. Nothing exciting seems to be going on in my life. I am so not used to this. I live for excitement! I'm afraid that this boredom will make me a dull person… please help me… i am begging you. have mercy! One of these days, i fear i might just snap and go insane just because of boredom…
Then, I realize that there's something I have to look forward to - the weekend! You remember from my previous post that my hubby promised to take me to puerto galera? Well, he said he's going to take me there this weekend. Just the two of us… whee! That got me excited. Ha! ha! Goodbye dullness! that is, as of the moment only. Let's wait and see what will happen next week. Maybe I should initiate a get-together with my friends or whatever… hmmm… I'll ponder on that thought.
I just noticed… that for the past three weeks that I've had my bangs, this is actually the first time that I felt it was bugging me. The way it covers my (cutie) eyes and gets in the way of my line of vision. It's irritating! But, putting that aside, I love my bangs. I love my new look.
Beach!
February 23, 2007Now that february is almost over… and summer is fast-approaching… I can't help but reminisce of those times when I was back home in Zamboanga City. Since we live just 15mins away from the beach, we, our whole family, went there every Sunday (what we call our family day). That was in the past. Since I got married, I live with my hubby in qc…my ate is in makati…my parents and younger brother are in Florida…my kuya and his wife are the only ones left in zamboanga. Going to the beach together, as of now, isn't just possible. Haay…i miss those times! =(
I miss the sea breeze blowing my hair…the salt spray on my face…the feel of the sand on my toes…I even miss the sunburn!!!
Just this afternoon, I had a craving to go to the beach. Since I'm in qc, it's sorta not possible. So, I searched the net for beach destinations at an affordable price… and I came up with Puerto Galera. My first option was really El Nido but…wait a minute…magastos! so, sa puerto na lang…hihi. My hubby promised to take me there one of these days. Just the two of us. It will be like a long overdue honeymoon…ehehe! (chipipay! sa puerto galera lang!)
